Transforming tin waste into ingots

metaconcept’s objectives for this project: Avoiding the need for landfills, avoiding burning materials and giving a 2nd life to waste products.

  1. Before: A complex waste, consisting of plastic foam/plastic film/tin foil, which is buried in the ground.
  2. Today using our innovative separation process: The tin waste is transformed into an ingot that begins a new life as tin material; plastic foam/plastic film transformed into energy.
  3. Tomorrow: the plastic foam/plastic film is transformed into glue, thereby creating added value as a material.

Expected result per tonne of tin collected: 1 waste pool not dug, 2 waste pools not created, i.e. 300 pools (15,000 m3) for 100 tonnes of tin (14 m3). And 20 to 50 times less energy consumed.
